Testing of the Termignoni Upmap

Product on sale  at bottom of the page

First test is testing the V4 18 Arrow slip on with DB killer in map available on the upmap device on a 2019 V4S with the stock exhaust with the only change being a Sprint P08F1 air filter.   Nothing else mechanical was done to the bike.

First thing I did was hook up the tach lead.  Anyone familiar with the V4 knows this is not an easy task.  I had to remove the protective covering from the middle bundle of wires coming of off the ECU and use the brown/white wire.

Next I tested the stock ECU in 3rd- 6th gear.   You can see that the bike revs out approx 500rpm further in 6th gear and the power drops off as we go down each gear.

Next I installed the upmap into the bike.  This was very easy.  The diagnostic port is located under the drivers seat ( 2 bolts).  I plugged it in and followed the onscreen directions.  It took aprox 15 minutes.  I then repeated the same test in every gear.   You can see there were gains in every gear.  The power was much more consistent in each gear and the power did not fall off after peak like the stock ECU.  These runs were all done less then 2 hours apart and nothing was changed but the upmap.

Lets look at each gear individually to make it easier to see the differences.

6th gear.  The upmap lags abit behind the stock ecu from 4500-6500.  I am guessing this is because the upmap disables the exhaust valve.   This is also the area people with slip ons that remove the exhaust valve  and have no tuning are reporting poor running.    After that they are very similar till we get to 14,000 rpm.  The stock ecu falls off pretty significantly while the upmap holds near peak.  Im guessing the stock ecu is closing the throttle and that is why it falls off.  The upmap shows a 1.5 hp gain at peak

5th gear test.  Same small hole in the bottom end. The upmap is above the stock ecu pretty much everywhere above 10k rpm with almost a 5 hp gain at peak.

Picture
4th gear test .  Same dip in bottom end.  The upmap has an advantage from 7k rpm up.  With almost 5 hp advantage at peak.

Picture
3rd gear test .  They are equal till around 7k rpm then the upmap has a nice advantage till redline.  With peak gains of almost 6 hp

I think this is pretty impressive for under 400!!

Here is  a run in with an air fuel, looks pretty damn good for something designed for a different set up. Proves once again that header design is the major dictator of flow and fueling needs. I  got a best result so far of 203 hp. Im sure the bike not being heat soaked from 2 hours of dyno testing had something to do with it.

I  took it for about a street ride. The bike feels overall smoother with improved throttle response. My bike used to pick up some vibrations when cruising over 70 mph, its much smoother now. I can 100% recommend this set up for a stock V4.  For best results you NEED to unplug the o2 sensors from the main harness.   They do not need to be removed from the exhaust.

Here is a test of the upmap arrow map without db killer on a bike with zard slipons.  You can see every gear is again improved
