heres a link to a thread on fz09.org Vcyclenut Flash - Worth twice the price! | Yamaha FZ-09 Forum (fz09.org)
I'm about a year late to the party, but here are my impressions.
•I got the bike in September of this year, and rode it (US spec ~56HP) for about 500 miles before getting it flashed a couple weeks ago.
here are my initial impressions.
•Engine braking-
The bike suffered from heavy engine braking before the tune, which made quickly setting up for corners on tight tracks a real pain. The bike pitched so much I would end up having to counter that, instead of setting up for my line.
After the tune the engine braking seems to be much less, and about perfect for my riding style. The bike sets up for cornering much better, I'm on the front brakes to control decel, rather than the engine braking slowing it down too much before the corner. The bike sets up and "falls in" more naturally if that makes sense.
•Throttle
-The throttle before the tune had wierd flat spots and "surginess" at low end, and at the 8k-9k transition. It's now linear and smooth; no unexpected jumps flat spots. The power builds relative to your input on the throttle as it should.
•Power
-Power below the curve seems much smoother and the bike now has a top end pull like a true supersport should have. The pull feels similar to other modern supersports, where you start building power around 9k vs 10/11k on the pre 2007 era bikes (just an observation of mine) It's not as peaky as I thought it would be for being a 400cc. No, she definitely doesn't pull like an R1 or even a CBR-600RR but she'll make you let out a little howl of joy when your coming out of a corner and rev it to 15k. Definitely enough power to demolish new/mid level riders on inline 4 600s and any of the other 400/650 bikes. I did back to back rides on my CBR600rr and the ZX-4R and while slower than the 600, the ZX-4r didn't feel lacking in power or slow by any means.
•Sound
-I'm running the factory exhaust and the tune unlocked some amazing sounds. The intake and fuel injection noises are amplified at high rpm, those combined with the exhaust noise makes a scream like an angry wolverine. A slip on or full system would sound like Angels singing!
-I'll update you guys in the spring once I've done some more riding.
Thank you David at Vcyclenut for putting in the time and testing to do this the right way.

David Vcyclenut Verdecchia The ECU flash has completely transformed this bike into a monster. It’s unbelievably quick now, with insane power delivery in every gear. The difference is especially noticeable in 2nd gear, which finally pulls as it should, strong and relentless. The quickshifter has been refined to perfection, offering seamless, buttery-smooth shifts that make every ride a joy. To top it off, the bike’s sound has improved dramatically, with a deeper, throatier growl that perfectly matches its newfound performance. Every twist of the throttle now delivers an adrenaline rush that’s hard to describe, it’s pure, raw power at your fingertips. This machine feels alive and ready to dominate the road!
I got my bike flashed by David Vcyclenut Verdecchia and wanted to give my review of the experience.
The most apparent differences between flashed and not flashed are the following.
1st and 2nd gear emptiness is now gone.
The idle feels stronger. On a flat plane you can engage first gear without any throttle input…if you want to.
The overall power in every gear is now smoother on acceleration whereas before there might be bursts of powerband here and there. The powerband now is more uniform and gradual.
The sound of the engine at higher rpm has changed. Not in a positive or negative way, it just has a slightly different sound. Happier, more refined perhaps.
The quick shifting is smoother than before which I didn’t expect but it was very apparent. Stock was fine,
Letting off throttle for deceleration is now smoother and doesn’t jerk forward as much.
If you like the way your exhaust pops on deceleration, it still does that, but it sounds and feels smoother and more predictable. Not like a 99 Honda civic.
Overall the engine just feels healthier and seems to run the way it wants to run.
The ECU was shipped next business day as promised and arrived back to me 2 days later.
Get your bike flashed by Vcyclenut regardless of your mods and you’ll smile on your first ride.

Hi David, my name is Brian. I recently had you flash the ECU for my 2018 R1. Sorry for the delay, but I just wanted to extend my thanks to you. The bike runs and rides so much better than before. It was exactly what I was looking for and more. Most notably how much smoother the throttle is, how much better, and smoother, the quick shifter works, and how much power the bike has now. Too much for the street really, but it is fun going over to Eastern Washington. I also wanted to say thank you for the summary of the work you performed when you sent the ECU back to me, it answered all additional questions I had. If I ever run across anybody needing the services you provide, I will happily send them your way.
Thank you again, Brian :)
Thank you again, Brian :)
Thanks So Much To Flashedbyvcyclenut for transforming my bike into a BEAST of a machine … first of all , the process of getting the ECU and getting it back was an absolute breeze and David Is The Master here ! I Purchased the WOOLICH Flash with Launch Control ( although I haven’t really done the launch as yet ) maybe my ECU needs time to settle before it engages maybe … David is very responsive in all his communication and he is very knowledgeable in his work as well … my A mode now is SAVAGE and all the other changes made have really blown my mind away tbh …. I can safely say that I have a new bike ! flames through the exhaust on decel , immediate response on throttle , engine braking is almost like it wasn’t there , ignition timing is like damnnnnnnn and my Annitori QSpro 2 is even more fun after this flash !
David once again , thank you from and it’s been a pleasure having this opportunity… VCN

Thank you so much for the flash on my 24 XSR900. Everything was exactly as advertised and actually 10 times better than I could have imagined. I have a new bike now. The throttle response, the power, the smoothness. Damn dude! You do good work!
Hey David,
Just got back from my first ride after having you flash it. Man, this bike is transformed! The throttle is smooth, the power is instant and consistant. Literally everything about the bike feels so much better now! Thank you for all your hard work!

I got the flash for my Sons birthday. He rides a 2021 Yamaha MT09. He had the Akra and a filter but needed a flash. I sent it to David and he flashed and sent it back to me the next day.
Per my son the bike is excellent, shifting is smoother and engine breaking is more to his liking. Bike is crisp now and responds like it should.
Thanks!

one ride complete and I’m 100% sold on the @vcyclenut tune!
The 2.5k bog is gone!!!
Pulling away from every single stop sign and red light in stock form had become a pain. See, especially when trying to be a good citizen and not drag race every light like I’m 17…I would hit the bog and look like this was my first bike. Now, I’m just gone.
Throttle Mapping Accurate!!
Now you get the input you request. The byproduct is that it feels a smidge torque-ier, even though it really isn’t!
Quickshifter is butter!
My last bike was a 2000 R6 so any quick shifter is a massive leap. I thought the stock set up was good, with the only complaint being a mild, low RPM clunkiness. Now…. it’s like a blip, just disappearing into the background while you focus on your lines. Basically another cheat code!
Over the Top like Stallone!
it sure feels like it pulls harder at every RPM, but from 10k-15k it is cooking. Not R6 cooking, but now the bike reminds me of that frenetic punch from the R6 without hurtling me into the stratosphere.
Growling!
The traffic was thick so not easy to isolate the exhaust note thru the Yoshimura AT2, but it sure sounds nastier. I had previously bought the db killer but quickly removed it as there had really killed the burbles on deceleration. Now though, I may need to revisit as it just sounds angrier!
Thanks to @vcyclenut for the super quick turnaround and harnessing the alchemy to get this bike performing as it should!

The tune completely transformed how the bike feels/ rides. It pulls way harder in each gear and there is no dead spot in the beginning of 2nd gear anymore.
The engine deceleration is substantially improved and it's much easier to ride smoother in a lower gear at low speeds, it no longer feels like an "on/off" switch although it wasn't terrible to begin with. The big thing is that the bike feels like an absolute missile now and 100% throttle means 100%. I would highly recommend David as well as getting your bike tuned.

Dave - got the ecu into the bike today on my 24 MT09 and it feels awesome! It’s insanely better than it was before
Thank you
Thank you
hey david, just resetting after a track day and just wanted to thank you again for the yoshi tuning and flash. i threw an ftecu qs on the zx4 and went gp shift, the timings you set are fu**in perfect. the bike works great!
Just wanted to reach out and say thank you a million times over man. Bike is an absolute beast with the new tune you put in. Amazing stuff, I appreciate it.
It reminds me of my DR 650. I have it bored out to 790 cc with a big cam, big valve head, big carb, big exhaust and that thing is visceral.
Now the VStrom hits hard just like the DR does. It now has way more mid range punch and feels like it just wants to scoot out from under your ass when you get on the throttle. That intake honk sounds like it wants to suck my balls under the gas tank.
In short, I love it!
Thanks,
Jeff

Rode the bike to work today, wow is it MEAN! Thank you so much for waking this thing up
The way your tune has transformed my bike is wonderful, thank you for that
Worth every dollar The throttle is maybe the best ride by wire I’ve ridden That’s the one thing that almost made me buy a street triple instead of the xsr when I was shopping |
Just got out for my first ride... Wow. You're a wizard Dave. Fine, fine job.
|
Just got back from my 1st ride after the AIS block off and new flash/tune…. Let me just tell you what you already know and have undoubtedly been told countless times…. You are the freaking man! This 2015 FJ-09 is an absolutely % different bike now!!! It’s literally perfect in every way!!! You are a miracle worker! I’m absolutely in love with how this bike performs and sounds now! Thank you thank you!!!
purchased the basic FTECU tune for my 2018 XSR900. First off all, I'm no stranger to ECU tuning. I have owned a couple Triumph Speed Triples and raced an R6 for a couple years. All of those bikes got tuned on a dyno. This is my first go with a "plug and play" tune, but I gotta say it may be one of the best tunes I've ever used.
After a 250 mile day on the bike, here are my impressions:
David has truly done his homework on this one. Throttle response is addictively smooth- gone is the jerkiness at the initial crack-on of throttle coming off midcorner. The entire rev range feels much more consistent, with none of the midrange softness after that low torque hit of the CP3. The bike just drives relentlessly to the next shift.
The smooth A mode is a game-changer. Now I can leave it in A mode in the mountains with no fear of a midcorner twitch as the stock map aggressively cuts the injectors back on when I try to smoothly pick it up off the apex.
What I love most, possibly, is the sounds it makes in the midrange as I'm navigating a fast set of esses- I can literally hear the blue fireball out the tip of my Leo Vince pipe as the improved ignition and fueling wrings every bit of power from that injector pulse. It just sounds so clean!
Vcyclenut has given race-bike spirit to my retro superbike, and it's worth every penny.

Holy cow!! A mode is awesome!! Bike runs great in all modes, and they picked upped up some serious power!!! They also are smoother now, great work and thank you!!!! You are the ECU flash man for the GSX-S8. Todd
Definitely more power! It is so smooth in B mode, sounds great, I love it, my wife agrees. Thank you so much for everything. Worth every penny!!!!
I received my ecu back and let me tell you, I never submit reviews but this time I'm making an exception. This is literally the best money I've ever spent on any upgrade on any bike I've ever owned. My 22 mt09 was wild to begin with but with this flash, it's on another level. The best part is that it's noticeable everywhere, torque, throttle response, shifting etc etc. pulls like never before. Can't tell you how much I appreciate what you've done and now I truely believe all the positive reviews I've read and glad I made the choice to ship it to you. I'm spreading the word as much as possible and once a few guys ride the bike they'll understand why it's the only way to go. From the first email to the tracking # it was 100% painless. Keep up the great work.

I am very happy with everything

“VCycleNut did a great job reflashing my ecu! The bike feels so much smoother in the power delivery and there was a noticeable difference in the throttle response. Highly recommend!”
Every time I asked around, whether it was my buddy with an MT09, or forums for my Tracer, about tuning, everyone said Vcyclenut. Every time I asked that name popped up. So I poked around his website, messaged him. Then came to the conclusion that this was the tune I was getting. It was affordable, very well done, great dyno numbers, and the thing that made it most of all the best experience, was the customer service aspect of it. I messaged him so often, asking about the tune and being impatient once I sent out my ECU to him. He was patient and answered every question. The service this guy provides is impeccable and completely flawless. The tune itself is just as incredible. I kept wondering if I was gonna feel a difference and yes I absolutely did. The dead spots in second gear were gone. The bike has full smooth power across every gear and all rpms. Bike sounds and rides great and I haven't had any problems. Thank you, I recommend everyone with a cp3 motor to get theirs tuned by you.
I was desperate to release all the potential of my ZX-4RR and David at Vcyclenut was at the top of my list for a few reasons.
First, he owns a ZX-4RR and uses his own personal bike to develop his tune. This is important because other tuners charge a customer to tune the customers bike just using a dyno , then sell this as their mail in flash.
David not only does this typical dyno tuning but also does extensive road and track testing to ensure his tunes work for the real world, not just at full throttle! The result is a bike that rides and shifts great in all conditions.
Second, his commitment to his customers is off the charts. When I wanted a tune for an unconventional setup (stock muffler with a performance header) he made it so easy to work with him to get this custom tune whipped up at a really attractive price.
If you're trying to decide who to go to for an ECU tune, you won't find anyone putting in more time and effort for development than David. He doesn't settle for anything less than the best for his customers!

David,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My first impression when I rode the bike after installing the flashed unit was so good that I decided I had to ride it a couple of times to be sure I would be objective while commenting on the flashed unit. First of all, the turnaround time is hard to improve upon, from my bike to you on Tuesday to back on the bike on Friday is very good, specially considering I am in Puerto Rico.
As you know, I got the DNA air intake filter system and your flash service for my 2023 MT-09 SP. After riding the bike for over 1,000 miles with the filter and the flashed unit, I have the following comments:
I am very glad I decided to send you the unit and will not hesitate to do it again for any other bike.
Once again, thank you so much for a friendly and efficient service, and an awesome product. I was truly pleasantly surprised. Feel free to share my comments with any potential customer.
Best wished,
Greg

- The throttle response is awesome.
- The jerkiness of the factory throttle is gone.
- While the increase in torque and power seem slight on your website graphs, the reality is very different. I was expecting subtle differences, but was surprised by a totally new bike. The differences feel huge. Midrange torque is amazing. No need to downshift from 6th to deal with traffic, unless you want to do it in an spectacular way.
- Fuel consumption is also improved.
- Your programming is how the bike should come out of the factory!!!

I know you must hear that a lot but, you did an amazing job on this tune.
I had a 2019 mt09 before (accident) and when I got the 2021, I was always under the impression that is was less fun and less stable... I tought it was just my memory playing trick and getting use to having that power.
But now, Its perfect, I got back the feeling I had before, I dont understand, because from the dyno chart, its not that big of a deal, but when you ride it... its a new bike and I feel like I got 20hp more, especialy in the low end.
The bike should be like that from the dealler, its perfect.
Thank you very much and keep up the good work.

You Sir are a wizard! The immediate changes to my throttle response, lower engine temps (especially important in Texas!) and overall power added is unreal! Plugged the ECU in and poof, a whole new bike. I can’t thank you enough! Would highly recommend David’s tunes to anyone looking to unlock the full potential of their motorcycle. Quick turnaround, real time communication and the best service I’ve had on my bike. Will definitely being using Vcyclenut for any flashes or tuning needs in the future.

Thank you for the amazing work you do! Here is a pic of the ECU and a pic of my bike. If you’d like to feature it on your site.
Thanks, Johnny
Thanks, Johnny
received the ecu yesterday and can't thank you enough for the transformation my bike got with your flash. Clutch less shifting is so smooth now, both up and down
Wishing you all the best, would be recommending you to all my friends.

Just went for a ride. Really loving it! It’s punchier yet smoother throughout the rev range and it doesn’t backfire when decelerating anymore! Thanks again
I am one Happy Camper!
Rode straight to the tight road full of 2nd gear 90 degree corners, that always gave me a pain in the ass with that fueling lag, durning off / back on the throttle.... it's perfect now and exactly what was needed. Often when in certain areas of the mid-range it felt like I was down a gear, a pleasnt surprise. All around the bike is smoother and as you stated....the quick shifter is smoother due to the fueling being spot on. Topped up with Shell 93 before my test run. |
I was contacted to flash the H2sx and he mentioned his wife was ready to sell her 300 ninja because the throttle is to snatchy. Soooo he let me have a shot at both ecu's .. the results
Hi David, I just got back home from my "test run" with the H2. Wow, just wow; remarkable difference at every RPM, THANK YOU!!! The whole time I was out there I couldn't stop smiling (sometimes screaming), felt very similar to the rush I used to have, when I first got the bike! This is as close as I have ever gotten to that rush of dogfighting with a fighter jet. I never felt this way since I quit the Air Force, and for this feeling I'll be forever grateful to you. I missed this. While I have always been riding Full Power Mode, this time I cautiously switched to Medium. Man, if this is Medium, I can't imagine what I'd need Full Power Mode for, if not drag racing, that I'm not interested in. One more thing: I learned so much about the mechanics of the bike, thank you for your help and assistance through the process. Huge thank you, and please do hit me up if you're ever in the Carolinas! The 300 the wife now doesnt want to get off of!! |
The weather has finally given me enough opportunity to put this ECU flash through its paces. I am very pleased with the results! Throttle is noticeably smoother in all modes, and all the power (and then some) is still there. I was a B mode rider with the stock ECU but now that I've had time with this flash I ride in STD mode with TC on 2 - because I'm too old for wheelies! My 2017 Fz09 is smooth, powerful, and responsive - what more could you ask for? Quit thinking about it and get the flash!
David,
I wanted to reach out and let you know I have reinstalled my ecu and fitted the arrow exhaust to my mt09 sp.
Wow! Took a quick test ride this morning, really happy with the results. I immediately felt a difference in the quick shifter and throttle feedback. Can’t wait to dig into that top end a little more.

“Had a great experience and was met with great communication. I had a lot of questions being my first time doing any kind of performance changes to my motorcycle and he was able to answer any question I had. Return times were great as well. Overall, I would definitely suggest him to anyone that wishes to do any kind of performance modifications to their motorcycle.”
Finally got to spend some time on the bike today so figured I’d share some feedback.
Bike definitely feels more responsive and smoother across all modes, gears and throughout the whole RPM range. A mode being snappy is definitely just that, but it’s still very controllable. Standard mode is currently my favorite for daily riding and also hitting some twisties. B mode now feels like what A mode used to feel like but much smoother. Bike is noticeably quicker and has much more grunt. Traction control kicks on more often because it’s putting more power to the wheels. All in all, I think I’m this is the best bang for your buck! Thanks again for your help! I’ve got another customer coming your way soon!

“The ECU flash for my 2022 MT09SP was completed the same day it arrived and was shipped off that same day. This quick turnaround was much appreciated as my bike is my only form of transportation. I’m very pleased with the performance of my bike after the installation of the SC Project S1 full system and flash. It has better power, and the throttle response is much smoother and linear. Overall I’m very happy with the flash, and heartily recommend Vcyclenut!” DR
My experience with David at Vcyclenut was absolutely fantastic. It was a no-brainer to go to David based on his tuning experience with the Yamaha MT-09. My 2022 MT-09 SP is now truly a premium running machine thanks to David's tuning.
The acceleration and torque is so much smoother at every rev range. Another thing I did not expect was the smoother engine braking along with the super addictive exhaust pops during deceleration.
Paired with my Spark exhaust I believe I now have the perfect combination of sound and power.
I had a small issue with my cruise control after the tune but David helped me troubleshoot the problem. We figured out that the issue had nothing to do with the tune however he was very responsive and I was able to correct the problem very quickly based on his feedback.
I cannot say enough about David's responsiveness and excellent customer service. I waited nearly two and a half months for my exhaust to arrive from Italy but I can say that it was definitely worth the wait. A proper tune is something that every motorcycle owner should consider.
With that said David at Vcyclenut is the guy to contact for that tune. Thanks David for all your help and excellent customer service?
Got the ECU installed and took it for a ride. This thing is a MONSTER!!
Thank you so much. There's literally a major difference from stock and I'm super happy I sent the ECU to you. Great job and I will definitely come back to you if I get another bike
Steve

Holy cow!! This bike drives like a whole new bike. So much smoother . Just around more bad ass. It should of came like this stock.thanks again David Vcyclenut Verdecchia for the flash :)
Killer job on the tune, man. It's obvious that you've spent a lot of time dialing in the FZ/MT/XSR bikes and your reputation is well-earned. All of the twitchy on/off throttle problems are gone, I can actually use first gear on tight maneuvers without feathering the clutch. Linear and predictable power delivery throughout the rev range. Launch control, quickshift, and autoblip work flawlessly as well. I know you've probably heard this a lot, but this is how this bike should have come from the factory. Thanks for doing great work, it's worth every penny.
I just want to say wow! You clearly know what you are doing on these fz09 tunes. The quick turnaround on the flash and even sending the ecu back with what you actually did I was mind blown. You can’t ask for much more as a customer. As far as the tune goes it made the bike a completely different experience. It’s so much smoother and has linear power now. Thank you so much.
Another 21-22 MT09 review
Hello, from San Antonio. Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the ECU flash. Bike is like a night and day comparison now. Unlocked somewhat of a hidden monster within.
Best regards,
AC
The Arrow Works, high mount arrived on Friday, next day after I received the flashed ECU. Removed the OEM diaper, installed the Arrow and rode it with the db killer, nice sound and pick up all through the revs, nice engine braking right down to when I pull the clutch. Then I took out the insert and OM gosh did that thing just grow a pair like King Kong’s.
first 2021 Tracer Gt900 review !!
The flash is amazing. 100% happy with it so far. I did a 6 hour ride Saturday and it was day and night from stock. I’ll make sure to get a review up and take some good pictures of the bike with the exhaust on
( That leo vince exhaust like MINT!!, Vcyclenut)

Just wanted to say thanks. This is exactly what I was hoping for. I feel like I have much more access to the power in A mode. Throttle response in all three modes feels much smoother. STD is almost buttery which is a huge improvement for commuting. My favorite improvement has to be the engine braking - no more lurching. Turnaround was also incredibly fast! -Nick
Just wanted to say thanks. Its been quite a few months since my flash, Akro, sprint, Anatori etc. on my XSR900. The whole package is just so much fun and works so well together. Makes an already great bike IMO even better. Thanks again for all your help in the past and in the future.
This bike is wicked now I love it 10/10
Wow... its a whole new bike.. I've had lots of experience with efi tuning on the automotive world, ive had good tunes and bad, I've have done both personally. Safe to say I know good when it's good. Vcyclenut did not disappoint!! The overall fueling is super smooth and there is more power everwhere.. Bike pulls hard regardless of rpm and the throttle response is awesome. It should have been this good from the factory. Nice work David! I highly recommend this service for any Tracer owner!
The mivv pipe sounds really good. Makes all the good noises, pops, bangs, gurgles. As far as the tune goes it feels great. The on/off fueling is much smoother which helps me out on the streets of Chicago a lot!
I mean I really can’t think of much that already hasn’t been said so here’s my take, I was very nervous about the entire process from start to finish like most of you reading this right now but I can say that Dave has some of the best customer support I’ve had to interact with. He answered all my questions within 1-2 hours of me messaging sometimes even less than that about the entire process from removing and reinstalling the ECU which FYI YouTube is a huge help with this as well so watch some videos, I watched (MotoSouth)’s video and it helped me with the removal of the ECU and reinstall. And my questions regarding shipping were also answered and he even let me know immediately upon receiving my ECU in the mail like I asked which helped me be less nervous during the 6 Days it took to get to him and back to me.
I had my 2018 MT-09 Flashed with the 200$ tune by Dave and put 300+ miles on in the two days I’ve gotten my ECU back and my bike feels so more refined and smooth then stock. The triple engine by itself is amazing but getting the flash done paired with the new exhaust and filter really changed the riding experience for me, bike doesn’t run hot anymore from when I installed my Akrapovic carbon system on and it’s just sounds so GOOD along with the with the weight savings and performance boost you get from putting on an aftermarket pipe. In the short time I’ve had the finished product back I do feel confident in saying this is 100% worth doing.

If you're thinking about doing this Ecu flash. Just do it! It's honestly the difference between night and day. Absolutely woke up my Mt09, more responsive and not so jerky any more. Went and tried out what over 140pmh felt like. Thank you David, quality customer service as well.

David,
I just have to say WOW!!!!!
Today was the first day that the weather has been warm enough for me to get out after receiving the ECU back from you.
This is awesome! Initially it was 49% fear and 51% giddiness.
Thank you very much!

Hi Dave,
After 3 weeks of riding the bike with the new flash here's my review.
Picked up my 2017 FZ-09 in September 2021. It came with a Power Commander V, Akrapovic carbon full exhaust and a K&N filter.
Did a little research on FZ09.org (thanks gang!) and Vcyclenut was the tuner I settled on. Dave was prompt in responding and was great to work with. I ordered the FTECU flash + no downtime package and a Sprint air filter on Feb 17. Keep in mind I live in Guam U.S.A. and was stoked to receive the new flashed ecu on Feb 28 via USPS.
Youtube helped with the removal and install of the ecu. Completed the airbox mod via Vcyclenut.com and its on now!!!! The bike now has lower engine temps, better fuel mileage, throttle hesitation and stumble was eliminated and the throttle sensitivity and power delivery are dramatically more linear compared to the PCV. Quickshifter is activated and I now have an oem QS on the way. Over all the flash is well worth the $$$ and the fun factor of this bike has been elevated.
I highly recommend a flash from Dave at Vcyclenut. He transformed the performance and feel of my bike and I'm enjoying my rides more than ever! Thanks Dave you rock!

I just wanted to reach back out and let you know that this bike is awesome. (2021 Yamaha MT09) You made a great bike better. Smooth, responsive and fast. No stumbles anywhere. Runs clean throughout the entire rpm range and never falls on its face in any situation. She’s ready to go! You can definitely feel the increase in power and it sounds great with the small pops around 3000 RPM while decelerating. Thanks so much. Zero complaints and all smiles from me. I appreciate your services and I won’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone any chance I get. Thanks so much! Fu@@in love this thing .
I get asked all the time about reliability with my flash. Especially the H2SX that some people have had issues after other company's flashes. I flashed this one back in 2018 when it was almost new.
Had my ECU on my 2020 MT-09 flashed by David at Vcyclenut. As great as the bike is from the factory it suffered from what seemed like an overly sensitive throttle. This caused a jerkiness during riding. The throttle was very on or off and not smooth at all making riding not as enjoyable as it should be. David performed his magic on the ECU and totally transformed the ride. It is now perfectly smooth in all situations and only now has it become what it should have been from the factory. I can’t stress enough just how much of a difference this has made and would highly recommend this modification.
forgive his language he is a bit excited

Awesome service from vcyclenut, from corresponding with questions, to the product. I was disappointed with stock 2nd gear and now it's incredible! Low speed riding no more surging. I love it!

Finally had a chance to take the beast out for a ride today. First ride with the Hyperpro dampener, DNA stage 2 lid, and the new flash by Flashed by vcyclenut .
All I can say is WOW! Smiles for days guys! If you haven’t gotten a reflash on your gen3, what are you waiting for?! It’s worth every penny! The choppiness is gone in traffic and low gears as well as a whole new feel in the midrange! The butt dyno definitely feels the difference!

Vcyclenut is the man! I’ve had several of every fast bikes made and always tuned and flashed. He woke this thing up and it is a different beast now and I’m beyond happy. Stock was disappointing.
vcyclenut is awesome and a blessing, so I live in Florida, I called multiple places and they didn't do CBRs surprisingly, so one of those places recommended vcyclenut I was nervous from start sending out my ecu the brain to bike thinking everything that it could get loss so on , but he reassured me that's 90% of his business is mail in, and let me tell you 5 days I sent it out and got it back quickly and he got it done, whole process was smooth and quickly and he will communicate with you whole time very honest and reliable guy I highly recommend vcyclenut for all your flashing needs thank you again bud you're a blessing CBR 1000rr life .
Hey I just wanted to drop a review for ya, man I gotta tell you this bike was like night and day difference, the giant dead spot below 8k Rpm(typical R6 dead spot) was non-existent it seemed like. The bikes air/fuel ratio being better tuned gave the bikes exhaust a cleaner tune she was singing hallelujah out on the ride. Eliminating fuel cut also made blipping the throttle on downshift so smooth was like music. And my favorite part was how aggressive the throttle was, very snappy and responsive just the way I like it, pulled like it was a bigger bike. And of course I appreciate the Speedo correction, checked for accuracy with my phone and we are good to go so no more worries when I ride wondering my true speed. I would just like to thank you sir for your work, I highly highly recommend your flash to anyone. My excitement and anticipation waiting for this to come back from you was well worth it. Now… she’s ready to take to the track.
Thanks again,
Brandon

I hardly ever write reviews, especially when I am happy with the product, but I wanted to share few thoughts about my experience with Dave from Vcyclenut.
I have either contacted or talked to a lot of motorcycle tuners before I made my purchase, the thing that sets Dave apart is his exceptional customer service, attention to detail and readiness to answer all the questions and explain options and process step by step. I dropped an email on Sunday and Dave replied promptly and half a dozen emails later I had confidence to buy his product. On the top of everything else Dave offers flash/exhaust bundle at a great price.
I bought Akrapovic racing line titanium exhaust and I would recommend it to anyone who not only does track days but also long trips, at 70-80mph that exhaust is not much lauder then stock, bonus is that headers turned nice goldish uniform color and looks great on the bike. If anyone is doing track days I don’t think this exhaust would be a problem even at Laguna Seca.
Now to the flash itself. These are my thoughts after 300 mile ride through the mountains. Before I even got out of town, I was shocked how great the bike feels in 1st and 2nd gear, no more abruptness and even in 1st gear at almost idle speed the bike is so smooth that even the tightest u turn is a piece of cake. Rest of the gears are much smoother too but what is interesting that FZ09 hooligan character is not lost, it is still FZ09. Engine breaking is much less pronounced but still there, which I love, exhaust backfire, I chose not to have any and I removed AIS and installed block off plates, is completely gone, I even had some with stock exhaust. The highlight of the flash is not so much extra power and higher top end speed but rather the way that power is delivered throughout the rpms. Power delivery is very consistent and predictable at any given rpm and in any gear. That translates into ability to literally flow the bike through winding mountain roads and makes it almost impossible to upset the chassis. Changes like lower cooling fan temp kick in range and lowering the engine’s operating temperature is just gravy.
To sum it up, it is a great product that comes with virtually unlimited customer service that goes beyond flash related questions and I could not recommend it more.

Shout out to David
Great customer service, answered my many questions in a timely manner and helped me narrow down which tune would be best for my riding style and geography. Shipped and shipped back in a week and I’m loving the smooth throttle response and early fan cutting on for this Fl weather worth it, made it come alive! |
My 2021 Mt-07 has been transformed! My bike will now power wheelie in 2nd gear!!! Definitely worth the money.
Thank you so much for the excellent service and fast turn around time. I ordered the flashy or my FZ-09 on Sunday, sent it Monday and got it back Friday. All the way to Washington state. I can’t thank you enough. The bike sounds great, rides amazing and really feels like I have command over the bike and road. All the best

Hi David,
Just wanted to let you know my thoughts on the flash you did on my FZ08 ...today was the first time I've ridden the bike this season. Did about 150km, so still getting used to it but I have one word so far...WOW!!!
Great job, man! It's so smooth now...no more shuddering on decel, rolling on and off throttle is very linear now no more abrupt on/off behaviour. Hitting the throttle after a shift used to have a slight hesitation then gradual pull but now it hits me in the chest and just pulls, hard. I found myself shifting unnecessarily just to feel it lol.
I'm seriously impressed...very happy with the results!
Thanks, have a great day!

Hello David its Michael
Extremely happy with the Flash from Vcyclenut for my Yamaha 2007 R1. First ill start with shipping, its excellent. I paid for quick shipping and David did exactly what he advertises. My package said it got to him on a Thursday the next morning on friday he was shipping it out i had a tracking number already and it came in the next day on Saturday. This Bike is now ridiculous this Bike has had all its power unleashed with this flash its a completely new Bike. Im going to need a few weeks to dial in my riding style to this new machine its going to be fun and challenging. It has way less engine braking so im flying into corners like a bullet and the throttle feedback is smooth and responsive. These year R1's are infamous for their bogging and sluggish takeoff in first gear but that is completely gone now, its super smooth. Every gear is ready to rip me off the bike i barley touch the throttle and the front wheel just wants to lift. The bike is fast and free now that its been unleashed the fuel map he loaded on here feels perfect. Dont hesitate to get this done its a must have. Oh and the bike is much happier with the fans kicking on at 205° instead of the factory setting that kicked on at 223°. Thank You so much for this perfect flash David you nailed it first try.

Looks good, sound great, and rides even better.
I didn’t expect to get back on the road this year, since November is almost always too cold and snowy. However we got a warm spell, making this the first time ever to ride this late in the year.
BTW, my serial number is also 007 and the first SE+ in Canada. They must use a different set of serial numbers for each trim level.
Thanks for the great service.

Hi David,
Just thought I’d drop you a note to say thank you for the awesome tune you put on my MT 07 ECU. I’ve ridden about 300 miles since I re-installed the ECU and put the Akrapovic exhaust system on. The bike feels notably stronger throughout the rev range, but particularly feels stronger in the lower RPM ranges (4,000 to 6,000). On my last tankful of gas I got 55 MPG with a moderate to aggressive combination of desert and mountain riding. There was a real difference in the mountain twisties where I could ride in a higher gear without feeling the need to downshift as much (I guess I was going faster than normal, as well!). I’ve attached a photo of my bike with new exhaust which I also love. Perfect combination of sound and performance (with the baffle in)

My XSR900 rides like a completely new bike now! Way less jerky and predictable now and with the exhaust it finally sounds like it always should have. The different power modes all seem to be dialed in to what you’d expect instead of giving too much or too little power. Turns are much more comfortable now with a predictable powerband as well. David was excellent throughout the entire process and super helpful, couldn’t recommend a better tuner!
My name is Steve and I own a 2018 Yamaha XSR900. I bought my Hindle Evo Megaphone black ceramic coating exhaust, custom Vcyclenut block off plates, Sprint High Performance air filter and had my ECU flashed. I also did the airbox mod that Vcyclenut recommends doing with the combination of a new exhaust, flash and the Sprint filter. The only thing I did differently with the airbox mod was cut the snorkel at an angle to create a larger opening and direct the air towards the filter more. My bike was great stock before doing anything but now with the ECU flashed, Hindle exhaust, Sprint filter and airbox mod, my bike has been transformed into a completey new machine! I couldn't be happier and my bike runs unbelievably awesome! Through my whole journey of making these changes to my bike, Vcyclenut has promptly answered all my questions and concerns and has made it an incredible experience. Vcyclenut's customer service is second to none! Thank you "David" Vcyclenut!! Hey dude I just got the ecu in this evening and went out for a ride. Wow! Massive difference.. I'm glad I sent it to you and would have done it right when I bought that beast if i only knew. Thank you!
Just wanted to push anyone who’s on the fence about getting their MT-10 flashed off of it! A whopping 48 hour turn around has woken my MT up and made it a hell of a lot smoother and that much more fun to ride! David Vcyclenut Verdecchia was a huge help in answering all my questions for a week before and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend/A+/5 stars/etc. etc. I can almost keep up with Jason TheMech who’s half my weight now!
If you haven’t let Dave tune your MT-10...you are truly doing a disservice to your smiles per mile! Well so far I've done several short rides with my Vcyclenut tune due to weather this week since I got a surprise week home from work before I have to travel again.
My impressions as of now. Throttle control 100% better, much more nature feeling. On & off throttle is way better, smooth and much easier to deal with in tight curves during spirited riding. Finally no more govenor on speed. I'm not sure why but I swear the gear shifting is smoother as well could be from better throttle control. Power seems the same wasnt expecting in real change there with just a M4 slip on, then again I've only really ridden it hard for about 10 miles on short blast up the road to make sure my 133mph nanny was gone. Super happy with how the bike feels now. Still the same bike just more refined feeling, this truly is how these bikes should be from Yamaha. Good morning David,
Thank you for all your help in getting me set with everything I needed to put the full system exhaust on my bike. I was able to get out on my bike the other day and man what a difference. The tune you put on it makes it feel a lot smoother, and it always feels like it is in its power band. I can't wait to get a lot more riding in this season once the weather is a bit better here. Again thanks for everything the bike feels and sounds much better. Good luck through these crazy times we are in right now DUDE! OMG.
Weather finally let up enough for me to ride to work at lunch today. You have worked some astounding voodoo here. Not only has it completely smoothed out in the lower speeds, but it is somehow more responsive and more predictable at the same time! It's clearly faster, and yet it no longer terrifies me just riding around! Casually pulls the front wheel at 8k in third! Trundles along at 18mph in second at neutral throttle! You sir are the MAN! Thank you! Big Shout out to Dave @ Flashed by VcyclenutPost by Reciprocal » Sun May 26, 2019 2:21 pm
I am pleased beyond words, not only with the excellent tune for my stock 2018 H2 SX SE but the fast turnaround meant that I’ve been enjoying my new H2 over the Memorial holidays. He only received the ecu on Thursday, and before noon Friday it was reinstalled on my bike. Denver is not close to Fort Myers! Thank you David!!! A few words about the flash, getting the ecu out without removing the fairing was tight, but care and patience it did come out smoothly. Going back in was actually easier, still tight but straightforward. The included instructions called for resetting the ecu by making (3) 10 second starts at idle. On the fourth restart, good to go. The instructions stated there could be a CEL code come on which would have to be reset, with instructions given, however this was not the case, no codes were thrown. I was hoping not only for the power gains at stock, but driveability improvements. It was immediately apparent the idle was smoother, the burbling on decelerations was gone and the transitions from trailing to part throttle were silky smooth. It just feels happy about the changes, really should come from the factory this way. It’s super smooth in L (touring mode), still calm and composed in M, uncorked but still linear and controllable in F. It’s pavement ripping in any of the modes, all the way to the 13,000 rpm peak, just a jet that only fails to take flight but you’re really not even sure it won’t. I had a good feeling about Dave, as a racer and tuner, he was making good judgments to balance performance, safety and reliability. Everything still integrates beautifully, KEBC, KTRC, KIBS, the quickshifter, the fan, perfect integration, and crazy speed and power everywhere. This should be the first mod on any H2 SX. Well done Dave! Tom - Aurora CO 0 x David is very professional in his work, very quick to answer the question asking for the flash via phone and e-mail. I have to say I drive couple of miles to do the review on my bike...and I have no issue with it, drive smooth, throttle is less jerky then was before the flash, more powerful, no pop at all just normal pop and sounds great with my new exhaust, the money was well worth it. To my friend and anyone's want to do a flash on their bike I highly recommend it is worth the money. Thank you very much for your suport David. From East Coast Canada |
took the H2 out for a 400 mile shakedown run through the mountains today...There is no way I can say enough good about it, but I'll try.
Let's start with the exhaust. I installed the complete kit...absolutely trouble free easy deal to do! ( I should note: I am a master mechanic, so my idea of easy and someone else's may vary) The system is remarkably quiet with the db killer installed (my stock 04 FJR is actually louder). The weight savings alone justify the cost...not to mention a stock H2 SX muffler costs over 2k if you ding it up. The tune is amazing! This bike is faster in low power mode than it was in full power mode prior to the flash! It runs like it should in medium, And it's damned impressive in full power mode...be sure it's pointed where you want it to go when pull the trigger! In short...I had terrific service from Dave, and his product is performing flawlessly! Buy his stuff...it works! Don B. 2018 SX SE |
Hey David Great Job on my 2016 Fz 09 Flash. I am local in Florida I contacted
David he text me right back within 5 Min. I drove 21/2 hours from Miami to his
home where he greeted me and Did my Ecu flash. He is a cool dude he knows
his stuff took about 25 min to do flash, What an awesome difference on my Bike
so much smoother and also unleashed more power, and top speed. The money was
well worth it, and so was the drive. I am super Happy with the way my fz 09
is performing.
Thank You.
Michael.

This is a review of the Flash-ECU-Tune by David Verdecchia of Flashed by Vcyclenut for my 2019 Yamaha Tracer 900GT motorcycle.
Background – I purchased this bike in July of 2018 and rode it for about 2,000 miles in stock form. Then I made the switch to the Akrapovic full titanium exhaust system that is made specifically for this bike. The 2019 model is updated from the previous model that was designated as the FJ09 in the States. I think the powertrain is unchanged except perhaps the ECU programming that comes stock on the machine.
I experimented with the exhaust insert. It was really loud with no insert and too much like stock (too quiet) with the DB-Killer insert in place. I compromised by removing about 1.5” of the insert – the part that goes into the exhaust. The result is a very good balance. Now I liked the sound!
As to the ride characteristics of the stock and (exhaust-only) modified bike, I can say that the fueling was less than ideal. After having read up on the experiences of many owners of the previous generation bikes, I could empathize with them as I was in agreement. The bike needed help!
Here is how I would describe the negative characteristics of the stock performance of my bike before the Flash-Tune –
Tune process – I read several reviews of David and Vcyclenut and was impressed enough to contact them. The process leading up to the actual tune was easy and straightforward. David is very knowledgeable and quick to respond via phone, email or even text. He answered my many questions and a written specification for my unique tune was established and agreed to by both sides. The prices quoted for his slate of services were quite reasonable in my estimation.
I met David at his shop in Ft. Myers FL at the scheduled day and time. David proceeded to remove my ECU in quick order and install his tune to coincide with our agreed-upon specs. All-in-all about 1.5 hours was needed to complete the tune.
Before writing this review, I wanted to ride the bike in a variety of conditions and with the Akro exhaust in all possible forms, including with DB-Killer in and out and with it in modified form (as I described above). All in all I rode about 1200 miles with the new tune installed in stop-and-go traffic, on the open road, in the rain and in locations where it was safe to really experience the maximum potential for the bike. I also checked the ride in varying temperatures from 50 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
It took some time and miles to allow the differences from stock to custom tune via Vcyclenut to come to life. The results are VERY PLEASING. Here is a recap –
In summary – this is a quality upgrade that is performed by a professional who cares about his customers and is a pleasure to work with. The value is most certainly there. What more could you ask for?

Here is how I would describe the negative characteristics of the stock performance of my bike before the Flash-Tune –
- Constant “hunting” or surge/coast experienced at speeds of less than 45mph.
- Top speed limited to about 120mph.
- Excessive engine braking.
- Dramatic difference in the throttle response between the three modes.
- Popping on decel with the akro exhaust.
- Non-linear throttle-response that leaves the rider to conclude there is a lack of direct connection between the throttle and the fuel injection system.
- A bit of a lackluster or “flat” response to throttle inputs below 6000 rpm.
- Overall, just not a particularly “fun” bike to ride in terms of performance other than full-throttle blasts.
It took some time and miles to allow the differences from stock to custom tune via Vcyclenut to come to life. The results are VERY PLEASING. Here is a recap –
- Fuel mileage remains about the same: 51-54mpg on most trips.
- Gone are the annoying pops when decelerating.
- This coupled with much less engine braking now adds a new tool – using the engine and gearbox to slow the bike as you prepare for turns and come to a stop. No fun before tune but now nice!
- The three modes remain, however better in that they are now more similar yet unique such that I actually use them for different points in most rides.
- The throttle response is now much more linear. Gone is the hunting or robotic “on/off” sensation of the original throttle.
- While the engine still offers its best performance above 6000 rpm, the ramp up is more seamless and just adds to the fun.
- Top speed is now unlimited and can now easily exceed 135.
- The engine temperature was found to be lower when stuck in traffic and never exceeded 205 and generally settled in just below 200. Before the tune it would climb and remain at 217. This should help the engine and certainly helps the rider as there is some heat that is radiated when at a stop.
- Superb throttle – very linear and rewarding. You do need to adapt to the response a bit as it is distinctly different from the stock setup. Once you master it, it will make you smile.
- Net result – now the bike is a much more precise tool that is a joy to ride.
- Negatives? None.
- Hope for the future? Yes, should I come to prefer a tweak or three down the line, David assures me he can make it happen and do so at no charge to insure my lasting satisfaction.
In summary – this is a quality upgrade that is performed by a professional who cares about his customers and is a pleasure to work with. The value is most certainly there. What more could you ask for?

Hi David,
I just wanted to give you my feedback on my experience with you and your ECU Flash service. Until a few months ago I didn't even know there was such a thing. After extensive time researching it on the web your site, You tube videos and feedback kept coming up. I recently purchased a 2006 Yamaha R1 50th Anniversary Edition which I have had my eye on for awhile. I just wanted one that was in good condition and not beat on.
I found one that was in showroom condition with just 3400 miles on it. I wanted it flashed to be able to have all the potential it could have without doing major things to it. I reached out to you and you responded immediately. You gave me tips on removal of the ECU, I also wanted to remove the cat but wasn't sure if the bike still had one seeing it had GYTR slip on's added. I sent you a picture and you were able to confirm the cat was still on it. Being new to sport bikes this was very helpful.
The best part was you were local. You let me bring the ECU to you instead of mailing it and when I handed it to you you said do you want it back tomorrow. Now that is service. I picked it up a couple of days later which was better for me.
After installing the ECU back I had no issues. The bike is better responsive and truthfully I am gently building up to getting all the potential this bike has. Your service was great and your price was the best out there. The best thing is you know what you are doing share your passion with others and I appreciate this. Keep up the good work and I hope you continue doing what you love to do.
Regards

Hey David,
Wanted to put a few miles on the bike before I hit you back and the week that you sent the ecu back we happened to have as much rain in that week as we have had in the past year all together.
But since then I've made two runs out Ortega Highway. The first one was last week in 50- degree weather, the day after the week of rain, so it was cold and wet road weather so I couldn't do anything but get a rough feel for the throttle response through the twisties, a little hit on the top-end speed and a few quarter mile launches.
I made another run today in 65+ degree weather which was much better to get a feel for the changes. With the simultaneous combo installation of the quickshifter, Akra exhaust, intake snorkel mod and your flash it is hard to tell what is doing what but the FZ is definitely running like the bat-out-of-hell I knew it could! No more decel pop so the air/fuel mixture is back on point (it smelled like raw gas out of the pipe before), no top-end limiter (much appreciated), and the engine braking is perfect (but now the front suspension deficiencies are even more pronounced, the engine braking was easing the bike into compressing the forks, now that I have to use the front brakes more it really causes the front end to dive). The throttle response in A mode is 100% better (and it starts in A mode now), which was one of the things I was really looking for given the amount of steep and tight mountain twisties that I roll. The overall power delivery from start to finish is perfect, no dips or flat spots anywhere, just continuous pull all the way to redline. 3rd gear is like magic.
Along with your flash the quickshifter was probably the best bang for the buck out of it all. Pegged on launch the bike will now take a flashed 2013 R1 to 1/8th mile, hang dead even to a 1/4 mile, at which point the FZ hits 3rd gear and on the R1 the RPMs come back from the shift to 2nd gear (no quickshift on the R1) and then the R1 is gone. I also have the Buell bars and enough weight to keep the front end down that others don't but before the mods I couldn't pull it off. I knocked him down 3 times today. Can't say that it works the same against a 2015 R1 though... but that won't matter in a year when they come out with the FZ-10. I plan on sending you my FZ-10 ecu as soon as they decide to sell them here and you get a flash worked out!
Thanks again!!

Hey guys!
Before I wrote this post, I wanted to make sure I logged some miles on the bike and I can tell you that there have been absolutely no issues whatsoever. As soon as I left the showroom with my newly purchased 2015 FZ-09, I knew I wanted to flash the ECU. I had reached out to another individual who is highly regarded for their flashes, but they never returned my calls or emails. I understand things can get busy and life happens. However, they could have let me know that they were unavailable. I would still respect them for that. I was floored, to say the least. At the same time I reached out to this individual, I reached out to Vcyclenut. Within 5 minutes I received a call back. David answered every question I had and offered some suggestions. David is a true professional and I was prepared to fork over WAY more money than he was asking for (even more than the other guy was charging that didn't want my money). David remained professional, he did not take advantage of the situation (or my offer), and did exactly what he said he would do for the exact price he quoted.
As you can see in the photos, the package was returned to me in some very extreme packaging but I appreciated that. I loved the sticker and signed ECU. Minor details, like that, are a huge deal to me. It shows that they truly take pride in what they do and appreciate your business. I was also installing an Akrapovic carbon exhaust at the same time (they both arrived at the same time, which was nice). The fuel mapping was spot on. If there is a setting you want, he will do it. If something isn't quite making sense, he asks for clarification instead of assuming and gets it done.
I really wish there was more I could say about David and his truly remarkable service, but I would be rambling for days. An ECU flash doesn't sound like much, and that's why I haven't really mentioned much about the actual flash. It's his professionalism that stood out to me from day one and his follow-up. And just so you know.... The tune is INCREDIBLE and I have had ZERO issues.
If you are considering getting your ECU flashed, call David. Don't waste your time and money with anyone else because apparently they feel you're wasting theirs.

THANKS AARON FOR THE GREAT REVIEW!! NOW GET ME A PICTURE OF YOUR BEASTIE!!
First off I would like to give thanks to Dave at V-Cycle nut for his great customer service/ support. He was willing to answer any question I had with an honest answer and I had quite a few. I sent my ECU to Dave after following his simple removal instructions. He had the ECU flashed and returned to me within just a few days. I was out of town when the ECU returned and couldn't wait to return home to feel the results. I have a 14' FZ-09 with an Akrapovic carbon system. I opted for speed limiter removed, AIS disabled, 185/195 fan temps and A-quick turn B-reduced traction and STD-smooth. The combination of the akrapovic system and the V-Cycle nut flash is incredible. The engine break is perfect now and the throttle management is much better. The flash has made the bike much more manageable and more enjoyable to ride, the thing RIPS!! Thanks again Dave and to anyone who is thinking about having the Flash done and or the Akrapovic Carbon system don't hesitate!

How is this for an indepth review, Bill after I flashed his ECU the first time had some custom throttle requests and obviously I was able to get them nailed done pretty well!! BTW there was no charge, like always, for the reflash
DavidI’m very happy with your second reflash of my ECU.I think you hit the nail right square on the head in all three modes, at least for me.
All three modes do just what I want them to.
I think the spacing between the modes (like the spacing between gear ratios) is ideal. I hadn’t written sooner about the second reflash you did for me because I wanted to be sure before I said anything.
Yesterday I had an opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison with an FZ-09 that currently has the Yamaha 2015 reflash. It seems Yamaha may have simply slowed the bike down in order to achieve a smoother throttle response. Yours is much better in all three modes, IMO.
Up until yesterday, I didn‘t even try your “A” mode in twistys because I ‘knew’ I wouldn’t like it. But I figured before I wrote, I should at least try it so I’d be thorough in my evaluation. I was very surprised at how smoothly it worked, even at low RPM. All the problems I’ve had in the past with throttle twitchyness are gone, even in “A” mode.
You Goldilocksed it in every mode. I couldn't suggest any change that would make it any better for me.
It's just what I had hoped for.
I still have the 400 profile Throttle Tamer, which, for me, makes "B" mode even sweeter, and probably helps me with "STD" and "A" modes too, which are plenty hot for me.
“B” mode is very smooth, calm, relaxing and predictable - just great for slow speed, tight, difficult roads, going downhill and even laid-back, non-aggressive cruising on the freeway in light traffic, but it will still move out very nicely when I grab a handful of throttle - exactly what I wanted.
I use it most of the time and could happily live with it nearly all the time if that was my only choice.
I also could happily live with "STD" mode. It's very drivable even at low speed on twisty roads. It's just not quite as peaceful as "B" mode is when I'm in the mood for peaceful.
And if all I had was your "A" mode, it would be fine, I'd just have to constantly keep in mind that I was riding a very quick, responsive hot rod and to be very careful not to gas it much unless I really meant it.When I'm riding on a curvy road, I like "B" mode in general, but when I want to get past someone and want to be ready to hit it hard when a short straightaway appears, I just switch to "STD" mode like it's a different gear (and maybe drop a real gear or two) so I'll be ready to blast on past when the chance comes up. Plenty of 'right now' serious punch. (“A” mode has so much punch that I’m concerned I’ll loop it in that situation) "STD" mode feels just a little nervous, like riding a spirited horse that wants to take off galloping the instant he thinks you'll let him. And “A”mode more so.
But I'm not complaining at all. When I was younger I'd probably ride in "STD" or “A” modes nearly all the time. Now that I'm older, I don't feel so eager so often, but sometimes I do, and it's great to have it there when I want it.
I especially use "A" mode when I'm on the freeway in moderate or heavy fast-moving traffic and I need all the instant‘blast off’ I can get to try to stay safe. Or sometimes coming off a red light when I'm feeling like that horse I just mentioned. But I'm still having trouble keeping the front end down when I gas it hard in "A" mode. Which is exactly the way "A" mode should be.
I like having a bike that is a bit hotter than I can easily handle when I want it to be, but that I can tame down with a push or two of a button whenever I feel like it.
I toggle through the modes much more often now - like switching gears. When I'm coming off a freeway offramp I'll automatically switch from "A" mode to "B" mode. When I want to dial it up a bit, I'll switch to "STD" mode. And if I really want to go, I'll hit "A".
Anyway, David, I think this second reflash is great and thank you for working with me to get it dialed right where I wanted it to be.
I finally enjoy riding this bike after a year.
I know everyone is different, but I think you've got a winner with whatever you did to my ECU. Maybe serious speed junkies would complain that "STD" mode is too sedate at low RPM, but not me. That's what "A" mode is for. And "B" mode is so nice and relaxing, yet plenty responsive and fast when you open the throttle up. I haven't tried it in the rain, but it seems like it will be as good as riding in the rain gets. If it ever rains in California again, I'll give it a try. They’re now telling us that El Nino is going to flood us all out this winter. Feast or famine.
Thanks again!

This beauty is all the way from Sweeden!!!
First of all, when I first contacted Vcyclenut, I never thought I would get an answer back the same day, but I did.
I then sent my ecu and got it back a couple of days afterwards ( I'm in Canada ). Just did my first ride of the year and WHAT a difference the flash makes. There's no more abrupt on/off throtle so I don't need to concentrate on the throtle control when I get out of a corner or even when riding slowly in the city and that's in A mode! Since I chose the quick turn throtle in A mode, third gear clutch wheelies are much easier😜. Just stop thinking about getting your ecu flashed by Vcyclenut and DO IT!!! Gabriel P. |
After I flashed his crossplane Silas texted me this response:
Woah dude, this thing is sick! Rear wants to get squirmy on me now down low just from a flash and sprocket swap. Been tooling around in 2nd and 3rd gear and don't need to go any higher, it just pulls. And I'm not even talking about A mode. I'm holding on for dear life lol Wish I would've done this sooner but glad I didn't. Gave me better understanding of the bike and what it REALLY can do. Thx!

Just wanted to say thank you for flashing my ECU. I finally rode it today. The first thing I noticed was the start up in A mode. Love it! No more riding down the road and having an "oh yeah" moment and changing it to A mode while rolling. Or forgetting to put in A mode after a quick stop to check out the scenery or after refueling.
As far as the mapping and throttle response, much smoother than even the factory re-flash. Disabling the fuel cut off on deceleration makes a huge difference with the attitude of the bike when rolling back on the throttle at speed or even in a parking lot. Way smoother! It also gets rid of the lean backfire while decelerating with a closed throttle. Although I kinda liked the grumbling of before, it is much quieter decelerating and the engine braking is less pronounced. As far as overall power, it seems more urgent through all the gears yet delivery is much smoother and easier to modulate.
The work you do transforms the FZ-09 into a bike that is more civil at lower speeds and livens it up as aggression level rises!
In summary, the only two things you need to do to your FZ/MT-09 to realize its potential is sort out the suspension and send your ECU to VCyclenut!
Thank you for your work and dedication!

hawker jet from fz09.org, has my favorite quote so far
: "Late welcome to the party Fizzy.
Let me guess...best $80 you have spent on the bike? I know that's the case with me.
Transforms the FZ from a pocket rocket into a scalded dog stripped ape animal.
Now that's what I'm talking about!""

Just got my ecu back so I'd figured I'd write a quick initial review. One word I have to say is WOW! As soon as I started my bike it already sounded different, almost like a deeper and slightlyyyyy louder tone to it. So I hopped on the saddle quick and took it for a quick 5 minute ride. I opted for std=a mode, b mode =smooth, and a mode=quick turn. Started in standard and realized that the bike just wants to go balls to the wall after every stop. But I go down my usually wheelie road(long and straight without any side streets really) and I do a nice pull and test out a wheelie or two lol. It feels really nice. So on my way back down this road I put it in a mode and holy shit!?! I think I did 15-100 in about 2 seconds. At least it felt that way! So after getting my adrenaline flowing I put it into b mode at the light and drove down my local streets to get back home. To me b mode feels like the factory b mode but you still have all the power. It's nice and smooth so it almost feels slow but it's not, and I wanted this option for when I ride 2-up with my girlfriend and I'm glad I chose it. So after my initial ride all I can say is..... Thank you Dave for flashing my bike for a great price and quick timeframe! I mailed my ecu out on Saturday and got it back Thursday. My fz is definitely way more awake than it was before. Put your sticker on too so now when I whoop some ass they know who to blame! |
After twice having his ecu flashed by super bike unlimted and still not being happy Matt Juhl sent me his ecu and finally got the results he was after.

So I took the bike to work tonight, and I have to say I'm very disappointed....That I didn't do something like this sooner! I'm 100% serious when I say the only thing I regret about this is not doing it sooner (which actually paid off because vcyclenut has a killer deal vs the competition).
For "A" mode I did the quick turn throttle. All I can say is this baby is smooth! Any kind of jerking (if any at all) can only be blamed
on my wrist. The throttle just feels so smooth. 2nd gear power wheelies are starting to scare me as well, I think I have an unhealthy addiction haha.
The only other thing I can chime in on is the decel cut thingamajig... That was always a reason why I never flashed my old r6. I would think "who the
hell would want to take away any kind of engine braking". Well with the flash it doesn't get rid of it. It really just smooths it out. Instead of a decent
jerking feeling when letting off the throttle, its a nice smooth transition. I can't really say anything about " STD" or "B" mode because I didn't test them out, but if they are anything like "A" mode I can't imagine being dissapointed.
Sorry for sucking at writing reviews and what not. All I can say is this is a great, worth while mod.
Oh and I shipped mine Tuesday, vcyclenut received, flashed, shipped back Wednesday, and I had it installed and usable before 3pm today (Thursday). Not a bad turnaround... Shipping has its price though.

I was one of the lucky two who managed to snag the half-off flash when Dave posted it, and I sent it off the very next day. I sent my ECU off Saturday, August 30 (the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, no less!) USPS Priority Mail. He shipped it back out to me Wednesday, September 3, and it was elivered
to my home in Pittsburgh, PA, the very next day (today).
I had the bike back together in less than 10 minutes, and took it out for a 20 minute ride (it IS the middle of Rush Hour and I do live in the city). I'm taking tomorrow off work to do a more extensive test ride, but here are my initial impressions:
B mode is more or less the same as it always has been, although its traits seem to be perhaps a bit more exaggerated. Power delivery comes on very slowly but predictably. It could all just be placebo effect, but if anything, B mode feels even LESS sporty than with the stock map. This is a good thing if you use B mode for its intended purpose (adverse weather conditions and high traffic city riding).
The jumpy/jerky trait of STD and A modes is basically gone. I can still detect a bit of it at low RPM in A mode, but it's hardly noticeable. in STD mode it's gone completely.
STD and A modes are both intended for aggressive riding, just two different kinds. in STD mode it's very precise and does exactly what you ask of it, nothing more. I can see this as being the mode you would want if you were doing a track day or riding down a very technical set of twisties. A mode is more straight up hooligan mode. The higher the engine revs, the more quickly it seems to build linear, in-your-face power. Those of you who have had the rear shock upgraded will note that the bike has more or less lost its ability to consistently and easily power it up in 2nd and 3rd gears. I am sporting a Penske 8983 and That was one of the first things I noticed. Well, with the "new" A mode, that tendency is BAAAAAACK and in full force. I'd almost forgotten about having to hold back on those 2nd gear WOTs to keep that front end down since I got the shock installed, so this was a surprise--a very fun one! So the modes now go like this:
B = Poor conditions
STD = Sport/track mode
A = Hooligan mode
With the Sonic Springs, the Penske 8983, and the vcyclenut flash, the bike's 3 major downfalls have all been addressed. This is the trifecta, the holy trinity if you will, of mods that are needed to turn the FZ into the bike Yamaha could have built if they didn't burn through the entire R&D budget on the engine itself.
Jump on this flash, folks, and even at full price, it's a steal compared to everyone else out there! You won't regret it!

Sammual B. sent me this amazing review!!!
Since I’ve been riding motorcycles, it’s always been a challenge to find a good mechanic. It’s even harder to find a GREAT one; let alone one who can do electronics too. And like I’ve been taught, (and told) “When you find either that good or GREAT mechanic, who won’t rip you off, stay with them”. And I have found both, a great mechanic AND that GREAT electrical mechanic. Both whom I trust with my 2006 Limited Addition 50th Anniversary YZF-R6.
Through a moto-vlogger I found out about David Verdecchia and his ECU flashing abilities. And before I did ANYTHING, I did my research. I looked at the “BIG BOYS to see just what they could do, asked WHO had the best ECU Flashings AND WHY? PRICE, PRICE, PRICE was the thing that kept popping up from everyone in the forum too. Anywhere from $299 to as high as $500+ ! Wholly Hells Bells riders, I don’t want a NEW ROBO BIKE! I want a bike that will do what I need it to do!
SO, I contacted 15 people, had 9 respond back and I was BLOWN AWAY by what they said! “You can’t go wrong!” “ The best thing and money I’ve spent” were just a few. So, I contacted David myself and asked a ton of questions. He responded openly, with some good advice and some of the best options for my “current” set-up. Ladies and Gentlemen, I can tell you for a FACT, after David is a Master at what he does and he’s been doing it for a LONG time! And I haven’t mentioned the price for what he does it for yet (but that’s not the point here).
The point is this, getting YOUR bike set up to how YOU what it is just what he does, PERIOD! Removing the EXUP, Correcting the Speedometer, resetting the fan to come on at a lower temp, Throttle response, Re-mapping YOUR ECU with either a map you have or one David has, HOWEVER you need your bike to respond, he can get it there. I can’t say enough about what or how David has helped me in getting my bike to where it is today. Besides me telling you just what he has done;
EXUP removed, Throttle reset, Fan reset to come on at 185 degrees, Speedometer correction (-1, +2), Ignition Timing, ECU Remapped and set with TBR Full Race Exhaust , Enable Quick Shifting.
And I will say this, my bike now responds 1000% better than before! David KILLED it for me in every aspect of what I wanted my bike to do AND MORE! By far the overall performance is just what I wanted and HOW the bike should have come from the factory. If you have any questions, drop David a line and ask away. He won’t lead you wrong. Oh and that price, at $60.00 you can’t go wrong.
