Just got home from a 2400 mile road trip from Fort Myers , Fl to Houston, TX and of coarse back.

I was two up with my awesome girl friend on the back for a weeks adventure.

We were able to pack with just the saddle bags and a tank bag for storage and did well.

Very Happy with the bike.  We both found it very comfortable smooth and even two up fully loaded it is a rocket ship making easy work of traffic. Had to show a couple bike we ran across what big sexy was made of.

I tracked the fuel mileage in Med and Low power mode and have a summary of the mileage at the bottom of the page.

I found Low power mode to still be very smooth have good throttle response and get approx. 10% better fuel mileage.

Day 1:   We both worked till 2 pm were on the road by 3.  We left in a HEAVY rain storm that lasted about 30 minutes.  I always love the looks on people's faces when you pass them in the rain on a motorcycle.  We did around 475 miles and stopped in the pan handle of Florida got dinner and called it a night.

Day 2: Rode to New Orleans.  Was around 300 miles.  Had an amazing time on Bourbon Street.  Crashed a wedding parade with a brass band playing and after a wedding member watched us dance,he walked up to us and gave us a white handkerchief that had the date and bride and grooms name on it.  Really awesome when someone we don't know appreciates the good vibes we give out.  We are going to make it into a Christmas ornament

After this we went to Houston to see a family member I have not seen in way to long.  It was a little over 300 miles.

We then rode to the coast of Texas and took a ferry ride and meandered the coast and eventually ended up in Baton Rouge had an amazing dinner and some drinks.  This was another 300 mile day

We then did the short ride I think it was 120 miles back to New Orleans were we spent 2 nights.  Did the graveyard and ghost tours.  Very cool city!!!  Great music food and people.

After those two days we took some back roads and stopped for the day in Destin Florida were we took advantage of a water park to cool off.  We then found a spot to cut between the expensive huge houses on the beach and walked the beach.  We found a rock jetty and climbed the rocks to the very end of it. We sat down to enjoy the stars and noticed it was not good night for star viewing.  Have no fear, within a couple seconds of saying it was a cloudy night.  A firework show started on the beach.  It was like our own private show.  Blessed!!!

We were going to do another 300 mile day and stop in Gainesville for our final night.  When we made the turn south on I75 it started raining and cooled it off around 15 degrees.  We both felt so good we decide to push it the approx. 150 additional miles to St Petersburg.   We found a great band and danced till closing time.    We woke up the next day and finished the ride home of 120 miles.

What a great trip on an amazing bike.  Cant wait to do the next one but next time we are heading for the mountains and going to enjoy some twisty roads.

To fairly track mileage I switched every fuel  stop between low and med mode.  It was pretty consistent about a 10% difference between the two.  Here is a summary of my findings

Med power:

Best Mileage : 38 mpg
Worst Mileage: 30.94 mpg
Ave Mileage: 33.55mpg
Longest distance between fill ups: 160.6

Low Power:

Best Mileage : 40.2 mpg
Worst Mileage: 33.5 mpg
Ave Mileage: 36.88 mpg
Longest distance between fill ups:180.2
