Did you bump into your turn signals on your 2021 MT09 and they look like above? Fret not my friend, I have the fix for you. It is still possible after the fix to knock them back out but they are much more sturdy than mine were originally. I believe a lot of bikes are showing up not assembled correctly with the plastic locking piece not installed
For ease of access I first unbolt the outer plastic shield. Its 2 allen bolts on the front and 2 plastic push pins on the back. These push pins are a little different in that instead of pushing the center in to release them, you take a small flat blade screw driver and spin the center section counter clock wise. Causing the center to screw out so it can be removed. To reinstall them you install the outer ring first then push the center section in. No screw driver needed.
separate out the other 2 pieces from the turn signals with the black plastic lock furthers away from the turn signal. If you look at the back end of the turn signal you will see the square holes that the squares on the locking piece will fit into when assembles correctly

Next install the rubber ring on to the turn signal so it looks like this. You can see the one square hole the locker will go into once assembled
Now spray a little WD 40 or similar onto the outside of the assembly , this will greatly ease sliding it back into the hole. Put the skinnier side into the hole and move forward till the entire assembly is in the hole. That little flat blade screw driver you used to undo the plastic push pins may be useful. Be careful not to push the turn signal out of the rubber holder. It should look like this
all that is left is to install the locker. Push it up the wire and lock the square tabs into the square holes on the back side of the turn signal. Pull on the signal a little to make sure its locked in and than put the cover you removed back on. Total time it took me was approx 10 minutes. Hope this helps ease some frustration
